DIY Wall Hanging

There was an empty space above my bed that screamed cover me. I moved in my apartment a little over a year ago and I've been hustling to cover up the empty spaces ever since! Obviously, I pulled up Pinterest and started searching!

Did I mention...Pinterest is my life!

While searching through Pinterest, I saw a few yarn wall hangings that I instantly fell in love with 😍

...So I think when doing any do-it-yourself project, you need to incorporate some sense of originality to make it your own. I went to Michaels to look for yarn in colors I loved and found great prices on yarn. If you go to Michaels before your visit, you are likely to find a 40% or 50% coupon either one item or the entire purchase (sometimes more). Some advice: Do not check out at Michaels before browsing their website for coupons!! There has not been a time where I've been at Michaels and not used a coupon. BARGAIN SHOPPING IS THE BEST SHOPPING!

Materials Used:

- Yarn (I used chunky and thin sizes)

- 1 pole (I used a wooden one, but you can use a stick, metal, etc.!)

- Hot glue gun

- Measuring tool (if you want to be specific)

- Scissors

With the help of the mini Davis Gal, Josephine, we created all of the tassels. I went to Pinterest (again) to find a DIY tassel tutorial. I followed the example posted here on Design Love Fest and went crazy with tassel making! I loved how the colors blended together and I loved the different sizes.

The tassels were complete and it was time to move on to the next phase of this wall hanging!

My next task: figure out how to make them hang from the pole. I cut around 10-12 pieced of string and tied them from the pole. I then took a few tassels and tied them around the string, then hot glued them to make them secure. I ended up placing my hanging above my window and just hanging it over the curtain rod!

When its bright outside, I'll just lay in bed and stare over at the window. Oliver, my cat, has swung at them a few times because he thinks they're a toy, but overall I am obsessed with the look and how easy this DIY project was.

May Grace Surprise You Kindly,

Bri
